Ujima Equity Consulting
The problem Ujima Equity Consulting works to solve is a lack of instructional support for teachers in high-need schools.
We do this so that students who need the most have teachers who are prepared, supported, and committed to their learning and growth.
We do this through:
Curriculum and lesson internalization and preparation
Consistent lesson observation and feedback on instruction
Analyzing student work and data to inform instruction
Coaching and thought-partnership for administrators and school leaders
Coaching teachers through student centered-coaching cycles
Creating a school culture of teachers as warm demanders
We know that the leaders of our most high-need schools have a lot on their plates. While they may have an intention to focus on instruction, the reality is their time is often spent addressing other pressing issues. As a result, instruction falls by the wayside. This is where Ujima Equity Consulting comes in.
Ujima is the Swahili word for “collective work and responsibility.” We recognize that working towards educational equity is not something schools can do alone. We must work together and recognize that it is our responsibility to support the learning of students who need it most. Ujima Equity Consulting supports high-need schools to ensure thier teachers have consistent instructional support.
